I have owned an R3 Uno for some time. The original Arduino unit is robust, but quite pricey. Mine was in a set with wires and components. It is the best way to get an original Arduino Prototyping Board, without the costly purchase of the board, alone. You will look to pay in the twenties for a genuine board, and in the upper-twenties for an R4 Uno with Wi-Fi. The larger Mega exists, but is expensive. However, there is an alternative.

I have just purchased my first Elegoo R3 Uno. It is a copy of the Arduino board, but has full support. It is easy to buy a cheaper than cheap version and find that the IDE won’t work with it. This particular board was on offer at just under £13. A long-shot from the cost of the full-board. It is pretty much the same and will offer the user just as much to the user. This is just a quick mention as I want to look further into this and discuss the pitfall of cheap boards in a future post.
