If you look through the lists of self-help books on Audible, you will come across those that respond to the issues of procrastination. This is the art of doing everything but what you should be doing. Using a laptop or a table computer often has the bonus of having minimal games to be over-enthused about. They have productivity written all over them. But…they can still be a problem. Not including having a ‘gaming’ laptop, social media has big place for the procrastinator. When there is work to be done, there is Facebook to fill the void! I spend a long time thinking about what needs to be done, without doing it. It’s very frustrating! Wouldn’t you think that if it is annoying, you wouldn’t do it?

Is it really solvable? In the news recently, I have seen more famous people and CEOs talk about their work-management-skills. Using strict hour-by-hour control, they find that they can be more productive. I would argue that being a CEO means that they are already driven, so they are already half of the way there, from the start. It doesn’t seem to matter what joy it brings me, I seem to opt for doing ‘nothing.’ This means Youtube! If I am adventurous, I draw! Although these are ‘nothing,’ they are not the height of productivity. So I am foever in the clutches of procrastination. It holds me, as it does many others. I hope that one day, I may find the solution…that’s a big ‘HOPE!’
