Set Review – 31145 3-in-1 Red Dragon

So, for this week, the small set to be built, is this cute Red Dragon. I look at it and feel the overall connection to Wales, even though it’s not the same kind of beast, but is still the right colour! It’s another one of Lego’s Creator sets, and from previous builds, they have bright colours and a straight forward style in their design. This is designed for children that are 6+ in age, but how cute would this look on display, even if you are 56?

The first thing that you spot, is the mass of small parts. This is a very fiddly set, which is why it set to a 6+ rating. I would say that, with good support, it could make for a nice ‘together’ build for slightly younger. There’s a lot of red, it holds as the primary colour, but once it is built, it creates a lovely design. At its price point, it is a definite gift purchase. These smaller 3-in-1 sets are prime for that.

The red causes high exposure.

There are no stickers, so that works, and the choices of build are sweet enough to keep a young builder happy. Overall, it’s a nice construction, there is little to it other than a bit of fun. There is not a big scope for play, but it is a sweet display piece. I suppose young imagination could add it to a castle setup, creating a battle, of sorts. Who knows what could be thought up.
