From the earliest of these sets, I have loved the Brickheadz range. Since my first one, which I believe was Mando, or perhaps Lord Vader, they have realeased The Turtles, The Spice Girls, and an assortment of sweet characters for all to build. This set is all about Luke’s time as a Rebel Pilot. With the majority of my Brickheadz beiong from the Star Wars range, it was likely that this would land on the building table, sooner or later! This design stems from Luke’s character arc as a newly enrolled pilot, where the rebels would send him in as part of the Death Star‘s canyon run. You could find this in the first film…well, the fourth, really, but you know what I mean.
We are met with placky-bags, which is a sad start, but the end result is worth it. You spill all of the contents into one pile, which can be difficult for some, especially if there are a lot of the same colours, mixing in to one another. Like other Brickheadz sets, this one is built in very much the same way. The design is based on offset pieces surrounding a central column. It felt smaller than others in the range, but it isn’t, it’s the same. The pieces are well chosen to create the shaping, making the helmet look spot-on. As expected, Luke also has his blue lightsaber with him.
For the price, this feels like a nice set. It fits the gift ideal, whilst being a cool collectible for Star Wars Lego hoarders. Like with all of these, it is a display piece, so play is not really an option. Saying that, if your imagination is high, you can make anything playable! For the record, I forgot to photograph the box, before I opened it, so I had to hold it back together, my bad. Should you grab this? Yes. It’s good, but there is little to talk about. It’s a blob of parts, a reasonably timed build, for not much more than a tenner!
