A Winter Homage to my Late Wife.

Chez in the snow. – 2007 – Broom Hill, Shropshire.

As we move into January, the new year offers us cold weather and darkness. This Christmas marked the third year without my beloved Cheryl, and I thought that this post could be dedicated to her. The image below shows her standing in the snow, high up above my home town. This was taken in 2007, on an area known as Broom Hill. We went for a cosy walk in the snow, at a time when she was able and willing.

1975 – 2021

I look fondly at these images and hope that others consider the happy memories before the sadness takes over. Our Christmases are not the same, but they have evolved into something new. This image is special in that it is one of the last times I remember the snow being fun, and not the hindrance that comes with trying to keep modern life on track, while the ground is trying to stop you. I hope that you all have the best of new years. 2025 should be better. I hope that the world can calm down and that we can find more tolerance with those around us. Hug those that you love, for they can be gone in a flash. Happy New Year!
