Lock and Key

A quick post about the positivity of security. I have always believed that a theif will always get in, regardless of your layers of protection. It is about the work it will take to get at the swag. The longer it takes, the less likely they will make an escape, or even get to it. The harder it is, the more likely they will just go elsewhere. Most security is passable, full-time thieves will study lock-breaking and ways to bypass them.

I am in the process of fitting a bottom lock on the workshop. I now have a lot of tools, ready for the taking, so want to make it difficult to enter. This is a simple lock, only one key, which is a pain, but it can be put on either side of the door. I am struggling to make it sit straight as the edging of the door is narrower than what I need. I want it to be strong and keep the bottom of the door from being easily pried.

Your space is your builder’s sanctuary, try and keep it away from those that are not invited. You have the right to be safe, and your stuff to remain YOUR stuff. There’s a limit to security before it’s nothing but a hindrance to you, but each small thing that is added, is a step further to keeping those hands, off.
