My Drawing Time – A Quick Review

I have started to draw using a smart-pencil and it is amazing. This review will not be about the pencil, that will be a tool-review for a later date. This is about using Procreate on the iPad. I have always dabbled with drawing, but am amazed at how workable drawing, on a screen, really is. Over the years, I have used many graphics-tablets, and still own three, now; however, this is a different game, altogther.

Playing with the app, turned me into a cyborg!

The first thing that I had to do was to get the hang of the app. Using previously attained skills with 2D digital drawing, I was able to find parallels between different softwares. It turned out to be quite the nostalgia shock as it actually feels like using Paint-Shop-Pro. It has been years since I used this, but it still has that feeling with the grace of modern app design thrown in. This is just an introduction to how it is for me. I’ll save time and say that if you have the technology, grab this, it’s worth every penny of the £10-£15 it will cost. If you can get it in the sale, then you are on to a winner.

Messing about with backgrounds.

A few hours later, I was drawing with relative pretige. I am by no means a great drawer, but you can at least see what it is! The more I used it, the more I found under the menus. Layer tools are there, cloning exists and switching layers to other canvases is a breeze! I love this and will talk more about it in the future, along with the other app that I have at its side, Procreate Dreams. Until next time.
