Old Dotty of the Sea

As I peered through my photos, I saw this old image of me in my 13 foot (4m) sailing boat, ‘Old Dotty.’ She was an interesting vessel, with a full set of sails and a mooring in Caernarfon, Wales. The castle loomed over the mast as the tide came in and out, twice a day. I had some great memories with this boat, especially with my late wife. I named it after my departed grandmother, and found it to be a little too small for my ‘ample‘ frame.

If I am on here to write down my thoughts, then this is a gem of one! Getting it to North Wales was fun, having a trailer failiure on the way home (fortunately!) She would have served better on a lake, but I still got to float around the old harbour, feeling like one of the sea-dogs. My biggest memory, however, is Cheryl getting off the tender onto the harbour steps. A she placed her foot down, a little crab pinched her big toe! Brings a smile, every time!
