A short post, for today, one about the importance of keeping safe online, and keeping your online spaces, secure. We are attached to the online world, in the early 90s, when I entered the digital landscape, there was little to worry about. It was the realm of the nerd, a place that wouldn’t see much in the way of criminal enterprise. Now, it is a pit of harsh realities, a space not unlike Mos Eisley. I always remember the negative press that was thown at the Web,but it’s a stark difference to what we have in 2024. The positives still exist, as they did in the 90s, but we are plagued with the ever changing way that it is used.

Your safety is paramount. It is not good enough to flippantly ignore the real dangers. You should always heed caution, never drop your guard. If it seems unbelievable, it is! If it is too good to be true, it’s not! If you are in any way uncomfortable, move on! Never give any personal information, including plans. It is all information to use against you. You can enjoy your online experiences, just keep an extra eye out, it will be your saviour.
As for security, the key point is to protect your online space. Hacking is rife, but it can be made incredibly difficult. By doing so, it will hold off many for long enough that they will move on to another account. Look after what you have, real or digital, because others are always looking to pick it up. The Internet has not been about long enough to really see its impact. Growing up in this decade is a bombardment of concern, isn’t it time you pay attention to it and make changes for the better?
