I must pass my Lego sorting station at least ten times a day. I have not done any sorting for a few months, and I noticed that the elves hadn’t carried the task on. I thought I would make a mention of the way in which I like to separate the bricks. I began by using a partitioned carry-case for Technic parts. The tiny pins and gears were easier to work with when this is the case. I have a lot of Technic to sort into this, but it is quite full, already.

My sorting station is an obvious one. This has twenty boxes, each being used for a defined type of brick. These range from environmental (fences, trees, etc.) to 2x bricks (The standard brick that we all love, but including all lengths.) The sorting station also has Wham, partitioned, craft-boxes. These are still being setup, but they hold figure parts, flowers and small tiles, to name but a few.

It is important to keep smaller parts in their own little pockets. It makes it so much easier to find that specific type and colour. I’m not sure of the hours that it takes, but it is worth it. the biggest issue, is the amount of space needed to store the boxes that house the most typical pieces. There is an awful lot of wheels and tyres, I can say that for sure.
