So, for 27th October, what’s needed for a successful post? A spider, of course! I decided that as the schedule landed on Halloween week, something quite in-keeping would be the best option. Lego have released a few, new, 3in1 sets, in recent months, and this is one of them. On the outset, it looks like a basic set with not much for your money. And so, the first half of the build was exactly like this, and true to that feeling.

Plastic bags are given, in this set, so no pappy bags. There are no stickers, though, though I doubt there would be anything in need of a printed block, besides the eyes. Opening the bags, you can’t miss the looseness of the pieces, of which there are many fiddly items. As expected, you start with the abdomen and build up the legs. Seeing how there are eight of them, it’s quite obvious that that means building the same section…eight times! The colours are fabulous, and that is apparent straight away.

The second half of the build comes out and you feel a sense of worth. All the eyes are put together, staring at you. Then, the thorax is built. In bits you form it with a day glow string coming from an axle that sits through it, top to bottom. Once together, the web-line is wound back in using the toothed wheel on the bottom. This turned it around and offered something for the money. The other two options are a bit lousy. I like the scorpion, enough, but the snake looks like an after-thought. At £10.99, this is a good birthday gift for a party goer, though I’d say hold off for a sale, I have no doubt it will be £8.99 before we know it. I would go with anything to tame the ‘worthiness’ beast. It’s all a bit of fun for Halloween. It now sits on the front of one of my shelving units, as the web-line is attached to fixed plate. It looks spooky-licious!
