It has been a while since I have reviewed a Friends set. I wanted to find a small set that sat within the price range of a kid’s pocket money. I found this for £6.99, having £2 off the normal price. At this cost, it’s okay, offering nice colours and a building exercise for smaller children. Even the box shows this idea of teaching little hands how to build. I like this and love to build these 4+ sets to see what efforts are made to aid little ones learn the Lego ethos of building.

From the outset, there is a couple of bits that will make it interesting. The first, is the amount of dogs. There are three, with two people. I find this quite generous and more in keeping with what is expected for playtime. I like the choice of transparency on the tube. It is not expected to be a complicated set, but it is on the lower side of even that. I was able to build this in 10 minutes, so if you are a keen builder, even children, then you will find that it is not a long construction.

It has to be said, I don’t recall another set that offers the adaption of another part to be used as doggy-doo-doos. Looking at the pictures, can you spot the chocolate ice-cream substitute? Regardless of simplicity, it is quite sweet and will suit a young builder, just as expected.
First Impressions – Simple and colourful. Not bad, but it’s not great, either.
Price-Point – Average
Time to Build – 20-30 Minutes
Score: 6/10
