Set Review – 60337 Express Passenger Train

In the 80s, Lego trains were quite robust. They were in their infancy and required big battery cells, From memory, they had the most archaic of switches. Now, though, they are amazing. This set was a breath of fresh air, with it now being controllable from your phone. The idea that the vehicle will move without the need of additional hardware is quite fascinating.

One of the great things is the characters that are given as part of the set. Highly inclusive and broad, you get average workers and travellers. Along with the driver, there is lady that helps on the carriages and is always available to serve you in the buffet car. The green is bright, but not detestable, with interiors being well designed and relatively colourless, by the outside’s standards. The platform is not great and you would be better suited to purchase a station or platform pieces for you to build upon.

The speed is generous, too. With a large track, it would go at quite a pace and is sturdy on the turns. The addition of lights is quite sweet, with digital track sounds added by the controller app. I loved the fact that you can sound the horn and even make a bicycle bell sound as you play with it. All in all, a fab set and a great addition to any City setup you might have.

First Impressions – A sweet set with lots of scope for personal improvements.
