I have gotten my hands on another of the new Space sets. This one is small, at a cost of £17.99, and is quite the cutest of builds. I adore the 4+ range, and enjoy the access it allows. The rear of the box has some excellent imagery, giving you an individual unit aspect. If you have trouble with orientation when building, don’t be afraid to try these out, they make building straight forward , with the illustrations being a solid guide. I feel that it is a little overpriced, but also understand that you get two minifigures and a lovely little alien with it. So, I’m still happy.

The build begins with the shuttle. It’s a micro version of the one in a previous build, and houses the first spacefigure. It goes together with ease and is a great pleasure to work on. The second bag holds the control panel and crane. It’s great to see the asteroid pieces back in use. Once built, you can fix the included metal-detector and jack-hammer to the front. There is the usual battery cells, with the control panel showing that it is a charging station for them. This shows a small story aspect to the whole new aesthetic.

It appears that the pearlescent crystals are a power source. It makes sense why this colour scheme is used and there is a ‘mining’ undertone to most of them. What’s left to say, it is as good as the other sets, in the range, and has the ease of build outcomes from the younger aged creations. A worthy go, with no stickers! That alien, though…

First Impressions – Such a sweet set. The accessibility is magnificent.
