Set Review – 10785 Gabby’s Dollhouse Bakery (Find)

It’s a cute, teeny and colourful set, but it is a bit basic. This was a find, and a cheap one, too. At £2.50, it’s was a great price, and worth it for the parts, alone. It still retails at £8.99, anf this feels a little steep for what is in here. The license clearly carries it, but that’s not to sat that it isn’t well designed and made for the new builder in the family. I can see that it is made to be a gift, a party gift for your kid’s classmate. The cakes are sweet, but the little cupcake-cat is ready built, so as a piece, it is a shame for it to not have been an ‘extra’ little build.

I am always astounded by the clever ideas that are instilled into these ‘younger’ sets. The hand graphic shows what parts are needed and where it all goes. I adore the fact it is angled towards learning. This is simply by the basic aspect. A seasoned builder will find this boring, yet colourful. A new builder, will love it. Grabbing this cheap, as a ‘find,’ shows once again that the brighter, younger, sets are a gamble. You can often know that buying a sports car set wil be built, even if it is forgotten about, later. Boys, and those girls that are keen to get their hands dirty, can often leave them, unopened, and abandoned. It is a generalisation, and some boys will be the objection to the rule, but it’s just a matter of the risk of a gift purchase; to be fair, even a football could come under that catagory! I do like it, I do, but it is a set that is made for a specific age-group. As always, I just love the brightness of it.

First Impressions – I like it, but it’s riding on its license.

Price-Point – Above Average
