Set Review – 60439 Space Science Lab

I wanted this set the moment I saw it. In recent times, I found that it was difficult to purchase, and even when I went into the Lego Shop, I was lucky to see that they had only just taken stock of it. What a great build, it is! The bags are separated into four with the top-glass in its own. There is a sticker sheet, which is a sad factor, but it is what it is. It begins with the wheel-chair being setup and the figure being placed into it, ready to do their research. The little hover-scooter is a fun addon and allows for the wheeled figure to scoot around at speed. Later bags have the other space-lady and the helmeted alien.

Each bag makes a different wall of the building. The second bag had the large plant, too. This was placed in the centre of the building. The slide door is access-compliant, too. The scenery, indoors, has a rest space and TV, a science-lab setup and cell-charging space. I love this set, it is exactly what I wanted and more. The price is very good, paying the £35 for this was worth it. There is a lot to do and as a playset, would be a great gift. I love the connectivity of it and the fact that there is such thought put behind the accessibility of the minifigure.

If you can get your hands on this, do it! It’s another great purchase for your other space sets. Other than the stickers, I have no quarms. I built it over a few days, but found it worked well, building it, bag-to-bag.

First Impressions – A sweet set with a great ‘play’ feel to it. Wonderful!
