Set Review – 60442 McLaren F1 Race Car

Due to the long process of creating a video for the post that will be put up later this week, I wanted a small set to build. I saw this on the shelf, thought it was cute, and felt a feeling from when I was a kid. The F1 range has grown dramatically in the last few months, with the larger cars being quite detailed. This one is small but is onto a win from the start, There are no stickers and everything is printed, epic!

I love the McLaren orange colour, and you can see the playability from the box art. A car is a great toy, so this will work as a display piece, whilst enabling a kid to grab it and race it around the floor. I can see it now; little me creates a track with bricks and can race around it. It was amazing how a simple brick could be used to form shapes as they pretend to be traffic cones!

This build is simple but so effective. The design of it is amazing; I love watching the different bricks for the F1 shape. It is bigger than I expected. I only paid £8.99 for this, two pound short of the standard price. For that, this is well below the average price. I’m loving it, and typing, as I build! As you make this, you find that there is the usual processes. If you have made other cars, or just vehicles, you can build a lot of this from experience. Just the look of it makes this a worthy build. If you are into Formula 1, or just like racing cars, this is a great buy, and a reasonably priced one as a party gift, too.

First Impressions – A simple build, but a cool toy for any lounge floor!

Price-Point – Average

Time to Build – 25-35 Minutes
