Set Review – 60447 4X4 Mountain Truck

Since the dawn of Lego, they have done a great job of creating different forms of transport. As it is well known that they are the premium tyre maker, in the world, this means that they excel at rolling land-based ones. This is no exception. The set comprises of the usual items, the figure, steering wheel and accessories. Aside from this, the build starts promising with it being solid and a little different to others. The overall part-to-part construction is mostly the same as any other one, but the order of structure feels stronger and set for to mimic that of a real off-roader.

Opening the box, there are stickers, sadly, and plastic bags. I’m not sure why the paper option is seldom used in new sets, perhaps it’s a supply issue, at the moment. The interior is tight, but something like what you’d expect. The adventure begins, straight away, filling the roof-boxes with goodies. In there, you’ll find, binoculars, a med-kit and even a banana. The front houses a winch system. It is a simple build but does mean you need to apply extra motor-skills to the build process.

You can spot, as you build, the use of the exhaust stack for popping the bonnet open. This is a nice little touch, that adds to the element of play. At full price, I think this is a little steep. £17.99 sits on the upper range for this type of set, with a price tag of £13.99 feeling more akin. However, I managed to get this from the Amazon Sale for a small £11.51! this is a bargain set, for that kind build allowance.

It’s high for a gift, but a great purchase with Birthday money, or a relative looking for a purchase for their loved-one. As expected, it has a play factor, and any kid would love to zoom this about. Added to the likewise Jurassic World sets, this would be an interesting addition as if the driver has landed themselves in a strange situation. Mixing it up would work great, so I think this definitely a worthwhile set for vehicle lovers and floor play events. Grab it, but wait until you see it being sold for an inevitable £13.99 by B&M or Amazon!

First Impressions – Another vehicle that will be great to build; it is what they do best!

Price-Point – Above Average
