It‘s another found set. The 3-in-1 range is quite familiar, now. It allows the builder to have a choice of pre-arranged models. This set is from 2012, but you can still find it in some old stocks. A used one is roughly £9; having paid a fiver, I am quite happy with its attainment.

To keep this simple, it is a great set. Perhaps that’s all that is needed for this review? No, There is one thing that showed up. There is a clear experience change when compared to newer Creator sets, offering a less sturdy build quality. This, by no means, changes the fact that the end result is excellent. It looks great and is a great plane to play with. It even has moveable landing gear. However, it is hear where one of the two main issues arise. The forward gear is loose fitting, meaning that it will hang down, anyway, thus it will collapse if not in the right place. It’s more annoying than it being a game changer. The other issue is the fragility of the frame as you build it. Heavy hands will see it fall apart, often. These small, but not insignificant issues, are what has changed in modern sets.

It turned out to be brand-new. The pieces were in their bag, still. It was quite nice not having to pull it all apart before I commenced the build. I was sadly missing one part, but it was easily replaced from my General-Parts-Population and so I was rolling, once again. The overall plane is very good. There is no doubt that it is a 3-in-1 set, the signature yellow parts make it so. Buying old stock at £15 would be a little steep. It is, at best, a £12.99 set in modern times, nevermind 2012. At £5, I am very glad I picked it up. If you get your hands on one, you won’t be disappointed; just see if you can get it for a tenner, or less.

First Impressions – Brilliant outcome, fragile build early on.
Price-Point – Above Average
Time to Build – 30-40 Minutes
