Set Review – 75386 The Vizsla Gideon Battle

I have seldom purchased diorama Lego sets, but was first introduces with the Luke Skywalker Entrance Corridor that was taken from the end of The Mandolorian Season Two. I like them, but other sets have taken precedence. This particular one just happens to be another Mando one, with the nice ingredient of not having another Mando and Grogu figure. The is about the minion wielding Paz Vizsla, firing upon Moff Gideon and guards. One thing to take note, is that you effectively get two Mandolorian figures with this, even though Gideon’s is a quietly built bit of cosplay! Even so, it’s a great suit and I never understood why Imperial armies didn’t harness beskar a little more in their own armour.

Starting the build is like any other. Creating the base-plates and building upon them. This can be fiddly, but soon strengthens up. I noticed, early on, that the figures have little space to be attached to it, which is a little gutting, but not a game-changer. The four figures are epic, it has a cool sliding door, that can be held up on the back, then quickly dropped in a security breach moment. It isn’t a bad build, just not massively inspiring. It will work for play and display, but looks more comfortable on the shelf.

It does have stickers, sadly, where I would say a couple are definitely never likely to be printed on. One sticker is used on a little room in the back. Unless you turn this around, you won’t see the cool little hold-out room with the Mandolorian’s claimed Venator Class Star Destroyer on their scanners. If you love Star Wars, and love The Mandolorian, this is a cool addition to a collection, but I wouldn’t expect anything outstanding nor highly play worthy.

First Impressions – Good for the discounted price, but not as great as other diorama sets.

Price-Point – Average

Time to Build – 50-60 Minutes
