I do enjoy that every so often, I build a set that I would have certainly had in my childhood, if it was now! The one thing that works with car builds, is the sheer playability they have. After building them, you can race them and play with them like an old Matchbox car. I remember car builds were small, mostly designed to stay together in role playing. They have become far more clever with the designs, now, offering larger builds with tough, layered, styling.

It begins with a strange chassis as its base, and soon has small parts attached to it. You feel it grow like a painting on canvas, working to form the cool edges of the Supra. Its colour can’t be missed, and fits the bill in the racing circuit, beautifully. There are many spares, but what stands out is the choice of two kinds of wheel discs. You can have five or nine spokes! This option allows for preference and as a VW owner in the past, a nice five spoke wheel looks the biz!

Overall it’s a nice build with a lot of fun to be had after its build. Although it’s retired, now, you can still find it on shopping sites, so get your hands on it. A used one will only be around the £12-£15 mark, also not a bad grab for car lovers or kids…at heart! There was only one part that bothered me, other than the clear stickers, was the underside of the front bumper. It has an angled corner that is held on by one scaffold, so can be popped off a bit too easy. Still, it’s fab, get your hands on one of these!
