Test: The EasyWeather App and Station

A few weeks ago, I posted about a find in my local charity shop. The Maplin iGadget Weather Station turned out to be a bargain for the £10 price that I paid. Once it was installed, I was able to easily see the outcome on the wireless-station’s display. Even after that, I wasn’t finished. I wanted to test it, properly, and when I had finally copied the CD-ROM to my cloud-drive, I installed it onto my ‘optic-driveless’ laptop.

Awesome graphs are ready for you to nerd-over.

It is quite the software, considering it is many years old and optomised for older operating systems. It has what you’d expect. The display is copied to the screen-window, allowing you to see the data, live. What it does well, is the storage of historic data. There is only so much memory to store this on the display, so you can pull-it onto your PC, then clear the memory out, ready for future recordings.

If you are into weather, and love the changing dynamics of forecasting, this is an amazing system to install. There is a modern version of it, including many Chinese-made options that can be found on Amazon or Temu. If they are even half the quality of this, they will serve your desire to master the local weather patterns, with great gusto. Anyway, that’s enough of that. If you’ve thought of having a weather station, there is a certain charm to it, and I would say, ‘Go for it!’
