Many years ago, I was confronted by a bird-of-prey, eating a pidgeon alive on my front lawn. This was quite unexpected! Even though it was a dire sight, it was an interesting moment, nonetheless. I have so many memories that involve seeing wild creatures in their home habitats. Walking could be the most action-packed time in my outdoors experiences, having seen stags on the run with a group of deer and squirrels doing strange leaps-of-faith. This image shows one of my favourites:

Walking through Doxey Marshes, a few years ago, I came across this gem. A heron blocked my way and was unimpressed by my arrival on the crossing pathway. I saw many animals on walks through there, but nothing quite as nonchalant as this. It’s a moment that I wanted to share on here.
