In the past ten days, the UK was subject to storm Darragh. It is quite obvious tha they are getting worse and can be felt more often than ever before. Over the weekend of 7th and 8th December, the winds battered and the rain fell. On the Saturday, you could hear it damaging garden buildings and destroying ornamnents. We were plagued by stories or people being attacked by falling trees and vehicles written off.
Whether it is all about climate change, or even about the natural alterations that befall the earth, you can’t deny the changing weather patterns. As a child, I remember severe snow storms with deep drifts, that no longer happen. It appears that it is now the time of the heavy winds and flooding waters. Where will this go and are we ready for such eventualities? What will it take to support our future’s society?
I hope that children, now, will learn to be tollerant of the new order. I hope that they learn to give that support, through new technology and modern methods for all industries. Could that person be you? What can you offer the lives of people living in an ever changing and windy world?
