The Vyvyan Diaries – Home and Running!

I suddenly realised that I hadn’t added an update on Vyvyan’s fate. She came back, after her clutch and pedal box had been changed. It took five weeks and £1251 to be done, but she is operating fine, now. I have some specific jobs to get done before the MOT, in mid-April. These are:

Passenger Door Interior: There is a rattle inside the door, when it is rocked, or closed. I believe this to be the window mechanism having come loose on one side. More on this in the future.

Brake Calliper Service: I am aiming to do this, the coming weekend. It just means that I need to grease the pins and change the pads.

Callipers need some TLC!

Seal the Roof: There is at least one area of the roof that is leaking. This needs filling. Update: This has now been filled in. There might be a sliding-door seal issue, but this will be a further job after investigation. So far, so good!

New Media System: Okay, so this isn’t for the MOT, but there is now a problem with the old Vauxhall unit. I want to put a fresh, modern, media system in, with a new DAB Ariel for the roof.

This will do, for now. The door and brakes will be sorted in the next two weeks, so once lights and specific moving parts are checked, I will then change the wiper stalk, as this one was caked in plaster dust from the previous owner, and needs a swap…I already have one to change it.

So, Vyvyan is a trooper, and still on the road. I am, sadly, having to keep her use to a minimum, for the moment, as the fuel prices are exorbitant. Just a quick update. Here’s to more miles, ahead.
