Taking my road bike out for the first time saw an issue with two spokes. At first, I thought they had snapped, but they had actually just come loose. So, putting them back onto the rim, I found that the cap was hard to get into the road-bike wheel. They are narrow and deep, so you have to drop them in, unless you have one of these:

The wire acts as a hold, pushing into the end of the cap as the two notches turn the flat-headed top. There are three wires, in all, with a small allen-key to add the threaded grommets. I managed to get refit the spokes without it, but this will allow me to repair wheels, in the future, and I thought I’d give a ‘First-Look’ and hope that it stands up to scrutiny. For now, it is solid and should do well in its new ownership.
