Over the years, I have built many mech suits out of Lego. Much of them were based with the Ninjago world, but it’s nice to see them being used in other ranges. On the outset, this set looks pretty normal, nothing special to really say, but if that was the case, this post is over…5 out of 10!

No way, this is quite a decent build. It has the usual traits of Lego mechs. There is a plethora or balljoints and hinges to get on with. There’s no missing the individual elements as you build them, especcially when there are two of each. Breaking this down into what works is as simple as the very beginning of the build. The minifigure is a gem. This is one of the best I have seen in the modern ranges. Sporting fabulous facial hair and an ear-piece, his suit is very distinctive. Keeping in line with the yellow construction theme that is used in the real world, he sits proudly under the metal brace of his mech suit.

Aside from the glorious figure, there is a little miner robot, which is a cute additon. A big thing that pleases me about these 2024 City Space sets, is the pearlescent blocks. The crystals on the cluster and the battery cells use a sparkly purple; it looks modern and suits an ever changing demographic of players and collectors. It is by no means a difficult set to build, but sitting in the pocket money range of sets, it is a gem to get and is a nice addition to any other space sets that a keen player will have in there box. In fact, grab some bricks and build a hangar for it!

The main downside is that of the stickers…not my favourite thing, but these are very fiddly and anybody with a shaky hands or issues with motor-skills will likely find these quite a precision task. Despite that, it is a fine little set and very good for the £8.99 price tag. I wouldn’t have been disappointed as a young lad, so it’s likely it will still hit home, today.
First Impressions – Is it a simple set?..no, it soon becomes an enjoyable build.
