Unless you are willing to grab a larger Ninjago set, it is easy to run out of the smaller ones for building. I already have a numebr of mechs, including one of Lloyd’s, but this 6+ set is sweet and a cool battle pack to put together on a rainy day. It’s cheap, and a good grab with pocket money. They always fit together like the large mechs, just without the intricate details. I like that this set happens to have Lloyd, Jay and a Vilainous Loyalist. I guess that’s what makes it a Lego ‘Battle-Pack!’
We are greeted with pappy-bags, so that’s a great start, and the outcome more than makes up for more. This comes together like all mech sets, but the addition of ‘dragonification’ is a nice touch. (That is not a real word, I don’t think so, anyway!) Being a battle-pack, it means that you get the extra figure, with this one having two of our ninja heroes. The overall idea is that you can make a play-set for battle, with a little amount of money. As a birthday gift, this is spot-on, and will make for some nice play. Loving mechs means I will put this with my other ones, regardless of the age group they are made for.
I would like to see these mechs nudged to slightly more challenging state. The reason I add Technic sets into my Build with G videos, is do I can offer that extra push for those that need it. Like I have stated, in the past, this one used the same principles, with smaller and simplistic parts to achieve the same goal. I do like this, and is another ‘younger’ based, set. Sadly, like others, there is little to talk about. If you watch the video, there is almost as much time on the figures, than on the mech, itself. It’s only a pocket-money set, so there isn’t a huge amount of expectation, really. Oh…there’s NO STICKERS!
