I was thinking back to a day in 2022. We were heading to a dog show at Cannock Chase, when all of a sudden, we were shocked by an impact. Having come off of a junction, my little car was only doing 15 to 20 mph (24-32kph.) It happened so fast, but it was a stark reminder about how much damage a large animal can do.
The deer ran from behind the trees and obliterated the left headlight and crumpled the left wing. The mess was staggering, but the car made it to the show and back home, albeit with a bashed-up front end. This is a message to say, ‘If it says, drive slow, deer,’ then do it! You and the animal deserve to be safe, please consider it.
