Pre-Thoughts: Like most of the Creator range, the colours are as fabulous as ever. Unlike many of them, the 3-in-1 here, looks to have three great builds. For the sake of clarity, I have decided to do the main build, this time. Your other options are a fuel-truck and stunt-plane, and a street-car with hot-rod. I can see this giving so much more for somebody to enjoy. I think that is a win, right from the start. You can see from the overall designs, that they are quite simple, and have the escence of the old Basic Lego from the past. This is not necessarily an issue, though, as the playability does not rely on the look, but though the eyes that are playing with it.

After the Build: We open up to paper bags, which is great, and there are no stickers, either. You can’t miss the amount of pieces that are in front of you, all in one go. This adds a feeling of complication, especially if younger builders come to try this out. The overall build is very fiddly, but I do think that it offers a wholesome built for a 3-in-1 set. The other other options are ok, though who wouldn’t want to build a helicopter, first? The race car and the hot-rod are a bit boring, but the stunt plane is a nice extra.

Having stopped the Build with G content, for now, I want to get back to my weekly build, without the fuss. The biggest issue with this set, is it feels like it is in conflict. The smaller aspects of the design, mean it has more complicated processes, but…the general construct is very simple. In fact, it is much like an 80’s build, using plates, piled up, to form the chassis. However, the helicopter feels like an after-thought. It is more than simple, but is offered as a sub-build, that does the job. I do like how it sits on the trailer, having a jig for it to minimise the chance that it will fall off. I do like this set, but it is something of a conflict in it’s approach. Buying this on sale, would be a good call, and give the maker, or giftee, a decent time.

First Impressions – It’s a truck! It has a helicopter on the back! Yeah!
Price-Point – Above Average
Time to Build – 40-50 Minutes
Score: 7/10
