An Odd Block of Light (Find)

Looking through the car-boot stuff found in my friend’s garage, I can across this odd block. In its box, I left it until I was ready to make a post on it. Judging it from the graphics, it appears to be main-lighting unit. I was mostly intrigued by its shape. It is also quite heavy and when I opened it I found out why. I like to look at stuff that can be used elsewhere. This particular unit will have been sent to recycling, so, what a great excuse for this post!

Opening up, I found that it is brand-new, in its clear bag. There is an information sheet with the fixing-diagram on the back. It is exactly how you see it on the box, sporting a strange concaved, plastic, face, with a solid metal box on its back. This was where the weight came from. Fixed down by to screw pins, set on either side, underneath has a junction box. What I found quite incredible was the hefty, spring loaded, pins that conduct onto the junction, beneath it. The lens is soft, and will give off a calm glow. I noticed that it used a 2D style of light-bulb (lamp.) At some point, I will test it to check it safe, and then maybe use it in the gangway at Steph’s place. Just a quick post, for a quick find! It’s like treasure! (For the record, ARP stands for Acuity Relay Panel, which is for keeping the electrical usage to an efficient level…sounds great!)
