Set Review – 71839 Arin’s Spinjitzu Mech

I picked this one up from Amazon, a while back. It was considerably cheaper than its retail price, but even so, if you like mechs, this one is worth the full cost. So, it’s another mech, but with slight differences in build style. The main chassis is the same, the limbs attach as per normal, but the embellishments are used to create a new look. Being part of the Spinjitzu range, these are interchangeable with other mechs of this type. It feels like Lego wanted to extend the designs play-span. For children that like to battle with their Ninjago sets, then these mechs offer something extra.

It comes together quickly, with the highlight being the epic minifigures and little dragon within. The weapons are pretty awesome, too. I find that these Dragons Rising sets are an also slightly off the usual, with Arin having no full-mask available. Part of what makes Ninjago is the outfits and unique identity that it offers. But still, this is a great build, with interesting colours and play potential. I noticed that the feet were built in a specific way, almost set to go to the rear of the body, rather than forward.

Aside from Arin, there is a Spectral Dragonian Warrior with it. This ghostly figure it kitted for fighting with its whispy trail for legs. Like the others, it offers less to say and more to play, so what does this really offer over other sets of its kind? Nothing major, but it is fun and has slightly altered construction methods. I really do need to put all of these together to show off all the mechs that I now have. Let’s battle!

First Impressions – Yet another slant on building a mech. Quite the joy!
