Pre-Build Thoughts: As much as I know that the 4+ sets are simple, and rightly so, I still adore them. I can see how anybody would love to be on the lounge carpet, zooming the bikes around before putting them onto the truck, ready for their next adventure. Younger builders can get in on this, using the 4+ logo to move them from Duplo to a new compication. I like that Lego offer this, now. I know adults that struggle to build sets, and I have always felt that it was down to how there was little build options between the simple, and the hard-as-nails. This has beautiful colours, and should make for a quick, but fun, little, build.

After the Build: The paper-bags are a nice find, with a great display of colours that spread over the table, found inside them. The bags are numbered to the instruction booklets, with the 4+ element, first being seen, in the artwork and basic piece placements. I knew this would be basic, but it offers a lot and has a great look, when complete. The two driver/riders have their hair, included, but getting those helmets on, is the most important bit…at least if you are set to play with those cool bikes. Each of them fastens to the top of the truck-bed. I am quite unsure why the ‘wide cab’ has only one seat! I wonder where the other person goes, when the bikes are being transported.

This set has a full-on playset quality, with it offering more than enough time-to-pound exchange. Where Lego want £17.99, you can buy this cheaper from online sellers. It is steep at this price, but found for below £15, would be acceptable. Either way, this would still be enjoyable to budding young builders. There are no stickers, so it can be built without the fear of making it look…odd. Make a race-track for them, and the imagination can take care of the rest. I like this set, it conveys simplicity with a whole heap of fun to master. I would like to see this extended, you could have an additoinal pack to convert the flat-bed into a box truck, car-carrier, or whatever. Perhaps you could make this up, yourself; it is the joy of Lego, after all.
