Protect the Shed People

As we progress, we are always threatened by big business muscling in on our ideas. How can a small-time inventor compete with everything that happens with huge investments and quick manufacturing from China?

This has been a worry of mine for sometime. The Shed People still exist, but are always hampered by intellectual property theft and big money outlays for turning their ideas into reality. What is the future of this?

As a Shed Person, myself, I am keen to keep the age of Shed inventor alive. I have mentioned, before, the importance of sheds in the past. The wind-up radio and the stylophone are two great examples. Making prototypes is an expense that most can’t afford, but I still believe that nog ideas can come from one mind. Slapping together a basic prototype is possible. Without a said prototype, you can’t apply for crowd funding. This is an avenue that many inventors now take, and is possibly the best way to get your ideas out there and funded to a reasonable level. But…it takes the Shed to create the prototype that begins all of this.

I think this post is just to make me feel better. I figure that I am not the only one that suffers from overbearingly rich big-cats clouding my ideas and oppressively holding me back. So, keep up the good work, people of the sheds, and bring those notions to life!
