I wanted to add on to yesterday’s post. It’s sort of a two-parter, where this part talks about the environmental impact on you and your self-worth. As we head towards the Summer of ‘2024, it becomes easier to eat less and get outside. We stop being held down by large coats and strangled by scarves, opting for a t-shirt and shorts to allow us freedom. How does the environment impact on us?

There is no doubt that it isn’t just me who feels trapped in the hustle of urban life. Even those that love the big city can feel it on top of them, at times. I could spout on about open spaces and how the outdoors will change your mental health for the better, but I am not going to. I want to concentrate on one thing, trees.
As a self-confessed tree-hugger, I love the smells, sounds and feeling of being in the trees, sitting amongst them or just leaning on them. A wide open space is beautiful, the huge sky stretches over your head, but it’s the seclusion of a woodland can give you peace, even in a highly used forest installation. Amongst the greenery, you can feel like you are truly off the grid. There might be a cellular-mast just up the hill from you, but you can’t see it, so that’s what matters. Have a go at sitting with the trees and silence your phone, if only for a few minutes. Absorb the nice side of life and keep away from the noise of the big city and urban soup. That is all, for now…maybe.
