Keeping Mental Health in Check

I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about mental health. It’s a buzz term, right now, but has been in existence, forever. I am a strong advocate of keeping it in check, and suffer, myself, too. For as long as I can remember, I have had struggles with it, but didn’t really look at it properly before the mid-2010s. The downward spiral of my wife served to enhance the issues and made me realise how much I pretended to be okay.

With Teenage Mental Health being in the line-up for Autumn 2025, I have been finding my own perils in the darkness that is coming in. Each year, the dark nights play a big part to make life hard, and for that, I use SAD lamps to help subside it. As this is one of many problems, I have learned to find cooping mechanisms, and when I am not at my lowest, keeping busy works, great. It’s no secret that I have had another STEM site, one that was built in 2017, in one night. I subsequently destroyed it a year later during another mental fall. If you look back at the older posts on this site, many are brought over using the ones that I had saved or kept when drafting them. Many were lost. Because of this, I want to say that you are not alone, please speak out, find coping mechanisms that help you find peace in day-to-day life. Depression is a nasty thing and one that is unfathomable to those that have not experienced it. Stay safe, and reach out!
