Set Review – 42692 Ice Cream and Balloon Stand

Yes, it’s another Friends set! I like to spread out the different ranges, where possible, but you can’t deny the gorgeous colours and pocket-money cost of much of the Minidoll sets that are available. This one is quite simple, but very similar to the mobile bakery set, it has a mascot and a key doll to serve her ‘Friend!’ (Did you see what I did there?) Here, we find Paisley and Liann. The former character is dfound in other sets, but Liann is not been in any of my builds, before, at least that I remember. I do like that the mascot is an ice-lolly…with an ice-lolly, and it sits on its own stand.

Opening up, we find pappy-bags, which is always pleasing. There are two bags, that when opened, fill the build space with colours. Like normal, each bag begins with making up the figure. Paisley was first, with Liann being in the second bag. It’s a simple build, just forming the parts of the set, with little design to be in awe of. I do like the use of a post-box shell, acting as a freezer within the trike’s boxing. I found it interesting that the safety helmet is part of the hair-piece, on Liann. The hair comes close to be shiny enough to look fake! It use the micro-axle-pins for the wheels to be added on each side. The wheels are that used on wheelchairs, etc.

Being simple, means there is less to say, but…at £9, it is quite average. It will be a nice addition to more Friends in your Lego box. It also goes, again, as a cool gift for a party. It would certainly keep a youngster quiet on a rainy day. This might not be for the whole day, but I reckon you’d get an hour out of it. Let me know if you have tried this! There are two stickers, so I was quite vocal about this on the Build with G video. There are only two…but that’s still two that I have to put on! I like this, it’s worth a go. I would say that it is good for play, or display! I wonder how much one of those lollies is in this Summer heat of 2026?
