Set Review – 76424 Flying Ford Anglia

Although I have a few of the original Harry Potter sets, this is a re-release of the Ford Anglia, and I thought, why not build it on the channel. Like the other licensed sets, this one has a slightly higher price, but it is not too bad. I like that you have both Harry, and Ron, which lends itself to that moment in the film. I do have parts of the Whomping Willow set, somewhere here. That one also had the Ford Anglia as part of the sub-builds.There has been a few occassions when this little car has been featured. So what is this one for, then? Well, with the introduction of the new TV series, then Lego likely thought it a good time to re-issue some of the memorable aspects of the original film.

The size of the box means that the paper bags are oblong, too. I just thought this was quirky. I love that the car comes together from the ground-up. There are no pre-made pieces that form the shape, it starts from two 2×14, black, flats. The Anglia soon comes together, with each character having their animals at their side. The set has the usual wand packs, with a spare for each. I like that the car can sit all of the characters, including animals, into it. The doors can be open to have a go at the scene over the rail tracks.

Harry has calmed down!

They have done well to form the shape of the Ford, with the blockiness of Lego, still ever present. There is a boot that holds the suitcase, and an animal, should you choose! It’s very much like the cars of the past! I can see why this was released, again. It works well and is a fab play set. Anybody that loves the Potter franchise, will love this, especially if they missed it, the first time. I will look to do more of these sets, in the future, as I know that they are fun, with the likelihood that they owned by more people. Get your hands on this, it is great, and believe that the cost is somewhere, just right.

First Impressions – It’s a first for the Build with G channel, I like that!
