Bench-A-Go-Go

The final workbench is now ready to be installed into the Workshop. I have all three painted up and in use. For £50, these were a bargain. Check out my original post that shows them as they were when I purchased them. What are, essentially, just steel angle lengths spot welded together, they are amazing. All three were in the garden for more than six months, taking the brunt of the Winter.

The final one needed a little more work. The ARC Welder was grabbed and my gloves put on. The top edging had snapped off of its welds and needed to be relinked. I also needed to add the leg back on, and fit a foot along the bottom. The good thing about these is that the battens that make the worktop, help to make it rigid and therefore able to handle any work done on it.

Once this was complete, I decided to add two diagonal pieces. These would strengthen the lateral movement of it, helping to keep the welds from snapping. Painted up, it looks great and is ready to rock. It’s another job that I can tick off and make the Workshop reach 90% useful. Don’t nominate me for Welder-of-the-Year, I’m getting better at it, but it’s still quite rough. Excellent stuff!
