Set Review – 77079 Fortnite Tomatohead

There are some sets, that when I look to buy them, I think, what am I doing? I have played Fortnite, in the past, but I don’t really aspire to make Lego builds, in its image. I tend to heed caution, but also know that my reviews have to be broad. This one surprised me! In the box, you will find some charming design that offers some intricate construction. I decided to leave a ‘pre-build’ paragraph, out of this post, as I wanted to capture the build, from the start.

We have paper bags, which is fab, but there are a pair of stickers. On of these is quite large and would be difficult for small hands to place, neatly. This serves to create a cool diorama, inside the tomato! This is not unlike the extras that are added into the Up-Scaled Minifigures. The overall build is nice, it is constructed with the designs that are found in the crafty sets, like that of the Dots options. You can think of it like a Lego trinket box, with a funny interior bit of cartoon calamity.

The set is good, at £12.99, and will give younger builders a bit of a challenge. It would make a great gift set, with its price falling into the Birthday-present, range. It is one of those where you are putting a sub-build, together, with no clue of how it will become a part of the overall concept. As expected of Fortnite, it is super colourful. Given that you are above the safe age, I can’ see you wouldn’t enjoy this. It is also a good contender for being on sale, or especially, donated to charity, likely unboxed. I do recommend it, simple outside, fiddly, inside.

It’s a chunky tomato!

First Impressions – An unexpectedly fun set. So much colour, it’s blinding!

Price-Point – Average

Time to Build – 35-45 Minutes

Score: 8/10
