Tool Review – Ujinzhou OBD II Code Reader

It was time to update my vehicle-code-reader. My last one was great and will still have some use, but is old, dirty and wired. This one, hooks-up to my iPhone (you can also download the app for Android,) and I can check for errors, emissions and even fuel use, via the downloaded software. It began due to Vyvyan showing an error with my airbag system, so it was time hook up a reader, and find out why. I bought this one, but as you can see, the manual show no use for airbag safety system, but the advertisment on Amazon, does. Not too happy, but it turned out, in the end.

Plugging it in, I found I needed to get the correct version of the vehicles system setup. Fortunately, this told me when I got it wring, first time, so needed to restart the scan. Once done, I found errors, but were able to clear them as they were connected to cruise-control, which Vyv, does not have! After playing with the wiring, the airbag light went out and I was able to clear all from the dashboard. As a tool that does a very specific job, it is a bargain. The build quality is good and the overall system works well. Getting the correct vehicle system setup might serve to be frustrating to the technically-uninitiated, but it’s a great buy. Give it a go.
