The Trick of the Magnet

I have always had a fascination with magnets and why they are like they are. How can a varying size of metal just stick together? How can they also repel one another. Looking at it with an uneducated mind, it is like magic. So, why do I, even with knowledge of magnetism, still feel this way?

Over decades, I have believed in magnets being an answer to some of societies problems. Whether is is about energy issues, propulsion, or even the clueless venture of time-travel, I have always pointed toward magnets as an option. Regardless of what physics tells us, we still come across systems, natural or otherwise, that change our way of thinking. Stories appear on the web that discuss uses of magnets that I had thought about, twenty-five years ago.

The invisible power of a magnet can’t be ignored, let’s face it, at some point, it is these real moments of magic that might just save the day. I guess there is always a real outcome of them still just being used to hold holiday tack on your fridge. For how long would the idea of magnetism be misunderstood in the potential ideals found with technologies such as MRI scanners? It’s one to think about, I do, more than I’d like to admit.
