For some reason, I keep buying Mando sets…I do like some Mandolorian stories and can’t help getting minifigures of Din and his partner, Grogu! This set is all about offering something from the recent movie, a small set that can be bought with pocket money, of grabbed as a cool, but simple, gift. The overall design is the same as the last speeder, if I remember correctly, it was released just after Season Two of the Disney+ show. It’s not the biggest of builds, but I do enjoy a small challenge, and something little hands can enjoy.
It begins with placky-bags, so that is a bit disappointing. Aside from that, you can see the slight colour changes to the original, and it comes together with ease. It would make an ideal gift, with it selling for £7 in sales. The reboxing is a little bit tacky, once you have reflected on it, but for the new audience, it is fine.
The design is very much like other speeders, in general, and so you will get what you expect, if you have built one, before. Still, it uses pieces to give it a small amount of uniqueness, and that isn’t something to think of as negative. Grogu sits in his little holdall, moving sideways, as Din races over the dunes. This is, of course, made to work with the recent movie that was released, and so becomes an obvious choice for the month’s ‘small’ set output. It’s ok, I do like it, but just expect it to be short lived.
First Impressions – I do believe this is my sixth Mando set, so I guess I like it!
