Set Review – 60498 Tractor

For this week’s review, I am attempting to build a bigger set. I’m not up for making a Build with G episode any longer than 50 minutes, so wanted to find the limit by building higher piece numbers. As I am looking to expand my life skills with Agricultural Engineering, I felt that this set was a great option and very apt for the coming changes. From the box-art, we can see the overall design for this, looking similar to that of other big-machine sets. Before opening, I was interested to see what Techic might be mixed in. At the time of purchasing this set, it was looking like the stock levels were dropping, and I found it above the recommended price. My local shop still had it for £17.99, so I grabbed it!

Opening up the box, there are pappy bags…and NO STICKERS! As this comes together, you can see how solid this will be for pay. It does, in fact, give me ideas for upgrading it. This is namely in the need for the three-point-harness to be added. Besides this, the colours and piece use, is fantastic. The most honourable mention is with the use of paddle blades, or sometimes flower petals, for wing-mirrors. I adore this! There is a hatch for the engine bay, with towing hinges on each end. Earl is a nice figure…he is named by me…but as the set is only known as, ‘Tractor,’ then I have now named it, ‘Earl’s Tractor!’ That’s better!

The glass roof used by cars for ranges like, Ninjago, is a great thing and suits the aesthetic of the cab. I was so glad that it took less than the, required, 50 minute limit, meaning that it is still a smaller set. For those that like, slightly, larger sets, this is a great thing for all that want to build with me. The wheels sit well, and look the part. I would like the exhaust to sit higher, maybe with a 60-90 degree bend on it. Other than these, it is fantastic and worth the price, should you find it not inflated! At £18, grab it…in fact, grab it for £20, I still think it’s worth it!

First Impressions – A great build. Solid design for play. Where’s the ‘Three Point Harness?’

Price-Point – Average

Time to Build – 40-50 Minutes

Score: 8/10
