The September ’25 Update – Health and Fitness

After the pain of an increase in weight, last month, I have worked hard to control the calories, this time. After weighing, this morning, I can see that the figures for last month were likely, partially, anomalous. You could account for it by muscle growth, but it is unlikely that I have burnt up this much weight in the last month! So, what do I now weigh? The scales told me that I am now at 18st 1lb (114.8kg.) Compared to last month, that is an 8.5lb (3.9kg) loss. On a normal note, this is not healthy! The biggest issue, this month, was that I found I wasn’t ready for the Northwest Triathlon. I decided that I would marshal, instead. The summer break was hard going; the pressure on my shoulders lifted, once I had decided to pull the event.

Marshalling in Nantwich!

I only ever aim to lose around 2lb a month. Officially, it is 0.5lb per week, but this is at a staggering 2lb! However, if I reflect, I can account for a few of them in my body becoming leaner. I can actually feel this, I have this weird sense of feeling like an action figure, at least at my joints. After many years of being covered in fat, it is quite the oddness to have ‘thin’ thighs! But, I do feel that much of this is ‘too low’ calorie intake. It is very hard not to bow down to the numbers; when faced with loss of weight, it becomes a need, each time. I can advise not to do this, but it is easier said than done. For now, I want to get on the muscle building aspect, as I like the feeling of strength. Let’s see where it takes me.

Figures correct as of 20th September ‘2025.
