The drama has continued with the trailer-tent (or folding-camper.) Our little, free, Comanche Montana, has has several more jobs done to it. We wanted to set it up for a two night test run, that is coming up, next week. With this, the jobs were:
- Clean it!
- Add curtains.
- Fix the new plate.
- Repair the rear lighting.
- Refit the frame, and a box to it.
- Paint the wheels.
This is not an extensive list, but all of these have been done, except for the box and frame, that will be added in the future. You can look out for another post about that! With Steph and I on it, you can see from the last post, we were already ahead of the game. This post is all about the wasted afternoon that was made up of fitting lights, new lights, that did not work! I had to cut away the old ones, with all fittings being rotten. Once they were cut off, I added new ones and wired them up…then found they would not work! I checked that the current was getting though, and it was! So, what was left?
I decided that the back up light-board, that at this time, is twenty years old, should be bolted to the lower panelling and the registration plate, moved onto it. It does now work and is road-legal. What a palaver! I was meant to get the box and frame one, but I ran out of time, It is such a pain when your time is used up by inferior products! Still, it looks smart and is ready for the brief trip. It pulls well and will look the part on the site we are going to. Also, the trailer is now affectionately known as, Munchy!
