Tool Review – Towing Takes Care

I just felt the need to mention a new tool that I came across. I have long thought about a battery box that could be used to hook-up a trailer and test if the connections work for the lights. I envisioned a carry case, with a small 12v battery inside. This would have a hook-up socket for 7 and 13 pin options. This is a smaller option and serves to offer the same outcome. One end is used for to plug into Vyvyan’s port, with her battery creating a current that show the connections in operation and if the are okay. The other end is to fit the trailer plug, into. This will the do the same but uses a PP3 (Square) battery cell to power the connections with the push of the yellow button on the side of the unit.

With both the socket on Vyvyan, and the plug on the trailer, needing to be changed, I felt this was a good purchase for a tenner (£10.) I will record the changing process, as this is something I haven’t needed to do, before, and so, it is a new learning opportunity. There are simple fitting instructions available, with colours corresponding to the specific lighting on the back of the van. I was aware that they needed to be changed when the connection for the light were not working too well. It showed that the pins and sockets, on both Vyvyan, and the trailer, were mucky and even part coroded. So, how well does this work, very well, and I will show it in operation upon the change of these parts. Stay tuned!
