I was given a trailer quite some time ago, and I have kept it on my drive ready to do a bit of work on it. The jobs included:
- Fit new mudguards,
- Paint the suspension arms,
- Fit the wire on the underside, properly,
- Fit the undersized cover (Done!)
- Paint the wheels,
- Change the inner-tube on the right side,
- Clean the tyres.
- Fix the rear plating back onto the body (it wobbles!)

I finally decided it was time to get these jobs, done! I had fitted the cover on, months ago, which was a real pain, but I managed it. I am hoping that it will have stretched for ease of use, now. I needed to fetch the second wheel and inner tubes from my workshop, so began with the remaining wheel and gave it a nice silver metal painting. The other will be done, next. I needed to clip the wiring along the under-spine, so that it doesn’t drag along the road. I wouldn’t mind changing the safety chain for a wire, too.

I am pleased with it, especially as a freebie, and a little bit of work has paid dividends. I want to fetch a bag of gravel to put around the back of the workshop, for which I am going to build a parts storage space. There will be a post on this, in the future. For now, I need to get the repairs finished on Vyvyan, and get using the trailer!

Extra: I also used a tyre spray to blacken them. They look great, even if they are a little sketchy and will need replacing in the future. The wiring is tidied and strapped to the boom, with it riveted to the base for better security , now. The final jobs will be to add the number plate holder and the knobs to hold the cover down are missing a few. Fortunately, a pack of these came with the trailer! It’s all good, and ready to go…at last!
