I like to think that I have a modern idea of we should face gender specifics. I don’t subscribe to the idea that boys and girls should be aimed down different progress routes. This set is a bit too out of date, for me. It build like any other Friends set, but is an ‘accessory!’ It has no playability, or at least very little, to its build. The colours are gorgeous, as always, with the printed sign, above the stage, making for a nice piece for those that want separate this for use in other projects.

I get that they want to draw girls into the builder space, but when you get sets with surfing, kayaking and cars, why is this necessary? To top off the annoyance, it is missing a piece, so I have had to replace it with a different colour one, for now. Can you spot it? Just for the record, there is no minidoll with this set! Don’t just look dashing on that catwalk? This set is from 2014 and is removed from the website, other than PDF instructions.

There is little to say, other than it is just stereotyping. I’m not saying that it doesn’t offer a reasonable build, it’s just the context of it that is lacklustre. One positive is when you complete the build, it shows the fake phone being used to create a stage back-drop. This means that you can use your phone as part of the play. Sadly, the QR code is a dud and no longer has a page to look at, at the other end. If you find this cheap, like I did, it’s a cool build, at least enough for me to take it back apart, straight away and put it in storage, anyway!
